Lapataia Bay

Information

Lapataia Bay is a bay located inside the Tierra del Fuego National Park.

It is the place on the coast where National Route 3 ends, which at that point has a car park for vehicles. There, where the road ends, there is a sign indicating the end of the road and the distance to the city of Buenos Aires. It is a classic for tourists to take a souvenir picture next to this sign.

A few metres away there are some footbridges. A short and easy walk along them takes you to a lookout point with an excellent view of the bay and its islets.

On one section of the walkway you will find the Sendero de la Baliza (a path), which leads to a beach where there is a beacon on a rock.
