Information
It is a village in the state of Quintana Roo, located within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. It is surrounded by nature, with the sea to the east and water to the west. Due to its environment, it is a good place for those who are interested in wildlife watching.
The village has some accommodation, restaurants and supermarkets. There are several offers for boat trips. There is a pier on its sea shore with a public beach nearby.
To get there, it is 55 km from Tulum along a coastal road, 43 km of which is a dirt road (in rainy season it can become impassable). There is no public transport, so you have to go by car or hire a excursion. On the way you will pass through the protected area of Sian Ka'an where there are several attractions to visit. After reaching Punta Allen, follow a precarious path to a lighthouse.
