Information
Bahía San Blas is geographically located on an island called Isla del Jabalí, as it is technically completely surrounded by water.
Taking Comandante Luis Piedrabuena Avenue (the waterfront avenue) straight ahead, you can access different beaches depending on whether you head north or south:
— Northern beaches: they are pebble beaches. By taking the waterfront avenue north, you will find several access points to beaches that are usually rugged and somewhat secluded. My advice is to only go 2 or 3 kilometers. This is because, if you continue much farther, the road becomes complicated both due to the various forks and because it can become impassable when the tide rises.
— Southern beaches: they are sandy beaches. Following the waterfront avenue south, you will start seeing these beaches after about 3 km. At around 4 km there is an area with large dunes, and between 5 and 6 km the road ends (from this point, I recommend ending the route and not continuing along the beach, as there is a risk of getting the vehicle stuck).
In addition, there is also a way to reach a ria, which is a very interesting attraction to visit. To get there, from the town first take a road north for 5.5 kilometers, where there is a curve to the left. Continue for about 350 meters and you will reach the ria. From there, there is a path that runs along it, where you can get down and have a picnic on its shores.
