1. By plane: it is the best connected city in the country. Flights arrive from practically all the airports of the provinces and most of those coming from other countries. It is also a common stopover point when travelling between two different places in the interior of Argentina. It has two airports:
- Aeroparque: it is located inside the city. With some exceptions it works for domestic flights, with the interior of the country.
- Ministro Pistarini International Airport or Ezeiza International Airport: it is located 15 km from the city. Flights mainly arrive and depart from abroad.

2. By train: some of the train lines offer long distance trips. Currently they only operate to some localities of certain provinces, such as Bahía Blanca, Junín, Mar del Plata, Pinamar (with connection), Rosario, etc.

3. By ferry: there are companies that operate boats that connect with points of the Uruguayan shore, and also with the Martín García Island in Argentina. The terminal depends on the company, and can be in Puerto Madero (which is on the shore of the city) or in the river station of Tigre (located in the outskirts). The main destinations in Uruguay to which there are frequent trips are Colonia and Montevideo, although there may also be (confirm) to Carmelo. Combined ferry and bus packages are also offered to and from places such as Piriápolis and Punta del Este.
