To get to Tierra del Fuego:

1. By plane through Ushuaia's Malvinas Argentinas International Airport: this airport is located about 4 km from the city centre. There may be direct flights (check) every day from Buenos Aires, Córdoba, El Calafate and Trelew, and some days (confirm) from Bahía Blanca, Comodoro Rivadavia and Río Gallegos. From other places there are flights with stopovers.

2. By plane through Gobernador Ramón Trejo Noel International Airport in Río Grande: it is about 4 km from the city centre. It usually has direct flights from Buenos Aires every day, and some days of the week they can arrive (confirm) from Comodoro Rivadavia and Río Gallegos. With connecting flights you can get there from many other places.

3. By car from Argentina: you arrive by National Route 3. Bear in mind that if you come by this route from any point in Argentina, to get to Tierra del Fuego you will have to do a section through Chile. After passing through Río Gallegos, following Route 3 for about 67 km towards the south, you will arrive at a place called Paso de Integración Austral (a pass), where you will go through the immigration formalities. This way you enter Chile, and after 55 km (combining Chilean routes 255 and 257) you arrive at Punta Delgada. There you cross the Strait of Magellan by ferry. Then it's about 150 km to the San Sebastián border crossing, where you go through immigration procedures to re-enter Argentina. Once in Argentinean territory, you drive another 12 km to take National Route 3 to Río Grande, Tolhuin, Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego National Park.

4. By car from Chile:
- If you come from Puerto Natales you drive 193 km southeast on Route 9, and if you leave from Punta Arenas you drive 50 km north on Route 9. In both cases, you reach a fork where you take Route 255. You drive 102 km along this road until you reach another junction, where you take Route 257 on the right. After 16 km you reach Punta Delgada. There you cross the Strait of Magellan with a ferry, and then it's about 150 km to the San Sebastian border crossing, where you go through immigration formalities to enter Argentina. You then drive about 12 km into Argentinean territory to take National Route 3, which leads to Río Grande and other towns in Tierra del Fuego.
- If you are coming from Punta Arenas: in the city there are ferries that operate several days a week to cross the Strait of Magellan with passengers and cars. The boat leaves in the village of Porvenir. From there it is 97 km along Chile's Route Y-71 to where you reach a crossroads. Turn right onto road 257 to the San Sebastián border crossing, where you enter Tierra del Fuego.

5. By bus from Chile: there are companies that go from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia and Río Grande, but only some days of the week.

6. By bus from Argentina: there are buses from Rio Gallegos to Rio Grande, Tolhuin and Ushuaia.
