Information

It is a locality situated on the shore of the Salto Grande reservoir.

It has a striking history, since the old Federación was left under the water of the Salto Grande lake when its dam was built, which was the reason for the creation of the new city. The new Federación was inaugurated in 1979 and is the one we see today with its beaches, while crossing a bridge you can see on the other side a small remnant of the old town. My recommendation is to visit the Museo de los Asentamientos (Settlement Museum), which deals with the history of the town and its locations.

It has a tourist information office, a variety of shops, a petrol station, an ATM, restaurants and accommodation of different levels and prices.

On the shore of the lake there are several beaches, one after the other: Las Palmeras beach, Grande beach, Baly beach and Sur beach. In the summer season (January to March) they are usually open for swimming. There is also an aerobic circuit of several kilometres.

About 12 km away is the Chaviyú Reserve, recommended for spending the day.
