Pre-Delta National Park

Information

This park protects a sample of the delta environment of the Paraná River. It has islands separated by streams connected to this river. It is an excellent place to be in contact with nature and to observe typical birds of the delta.

Paraje La Jaula:
- The Paraje La Jaula, which is the main entrance where the recreational area of the park is located, is only 6 km from the town of Diamante along a paved road that is normally in good condition. An access ticket must be paid to enter.
- La Jaula is in a solid ground area, on the banks of a stream. It has a campsite with electricity, tables and toilets, ideal for overnight stays. There are some weekends when there are boat excursions to visit the streams in the area (you should ask if they are operating and how much it costs).
- In front of the park ranger office is the Laguna Curiyú (a small body of water) with a path around it, where it is common to see the coypu (Myocastor coypus) and birds of the aquatic environment. Another attraction is the Sendero de las Lagunas (a trail), which is a low-difficulty walk of about 1 km along footbridges and dirt roads, passing by the Lagunas Irupé and Las Piedras (like lakes).
