Information

It is a monument located on the border between Argentina and Chile, at 3854 metres above sea level. It was built to commemorate the peaceful settlement of a border conflict between the two countries.

Take into account that in winter seasons (especially between May and September) the road leading to the place can be inaccessible due to snow or ice.

To get there, from Argentina's Route 7 in the village of Las Cuevas, starts a dirt road. It is 8.5 km up a mountain to the sculpture. The whole way to the Christ the Redeemer is a sightseeing trip itself, as you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountain scenery.
