Villa de Merlo can be reached by different means of transport:

1. By bus: it has a bus terminal to which public transportation arrives from the cities of Buenos Aires (Liniers and Retiro terminals), Córdoba, Mendoza and San Luis. There are also buses from Traslasierra localities such as Cura Brochero, Mina Clavero and Villa Dolores.

2. By car:
- Provincial Route 1 connects Merlo to the south with other nearby tourist destinations such as Carpintería, Cortaderas, Los Molles, Villa Larca, etc. If you continue for 95 kilometres you will reach Punilla, where you will intercept Provincial Route 30 that leads to Río Cuarto, and from there you will take National Route 8 that leads to Buenos Aires. This is the shortest way to go to Merlo from the Argentinean capital, it is 770 km in total.
- From Merlo you take Provincial Route 5, which after 15 km intercepts National Route 148. If you take this road northwards, it is 44 km to Villa Dolores, and from there you can go to the towns of the Traslasierra Valley. But if you take the 148 towards the south, it is 160 km to the outskirts of Villa Mercedes where you can intercept the national routes 7 and 8 that lead to many cities of the country such as Buenos Aires, Mendoza, San Luis, etc.

3. By plane: to the international airport Valle del Conlara, which is about 19,5 km from Merlo, there are some flights from Buenos Aires (usually spaced in days). Frequency and schedules must be confirmed.
