A few kilometers from the town of San Francisco del Monte de Oro, in the province of San Luis, there is a road that leads to a mine called El Rincón—an ideal route for those seeking to connect with nature in its purest form. This path winds through landscapes of great beauty, crossing a forest of caranday palm trees that gives the surroundings a unique character.

Along the way, it is also possible to access the Socoscora River, whose crystal-clear waters invite visitors to stop and enjoy the scenery. It is common to spot a variety of native birds, thanks to the rugged and minimally altered environment that characterizes the area. One species frequently seen is the striking white woodpecker (Melanerpes candidus), often found perched high in the trees.

It is important to note that there are no services available along the entire route, as much of the road passes through uninhabited areas. For this reason, it is recommended to bring everything necessary: water, food, sun protection, and especially enough fuel. Proper preparation is key to enjoying the outing without setbacks.

Access is only possible with a private vehicle or by arranging transportation with a local taxi service. From Pringles Square, in the center of San Francisco del Monte de Oro, approximately 8 kilometers are traveled southward, passing by the Las Palmeras dam. From there, a dirt road branches off to the right. This stretch is more suitable for high-clearance vehicles or those with good suspension, as it may present irregularities, especially during rainy seasons.
