Information

It is a locality placed in a mountainous environment and with rivers. It has a tourist information office, accommodation, restaurants and grocery shops.

It has many attractions in the middle of a natural environment of hills and caranday palm trees. The Curtiembre and Claro Rivers join to form the San Francisco River, providing the town with places with crystal clear water, which are called Primer Badén and Segundo Badén (so called because they are in fords of the route that crosses them). At a short distance there are many places of interest such as the Quebrada de López (a ravine), the Juan Gómez River, the road to Rodeo de Cadenas and the road to El Rincon. The Las Palmeras Dam is also nearby and has a public beach with parasols.

A historical site to visit is the first school where the former president Domingo Faustino Sarmiento taught, which today is a museum where guided tours are given.

- By car from the city of San Luis (option 1): first you have to drive 100 kilometres along the National Route 146, and then take the Provincial Route 9 to the right, which will take you 10 kilometres to the locality.
- By car from the city of San Luis (option 2): you can get there through the mountains through the Provincial Route 9, which although it is a slower road, it is a touristically interesting trip, since you can visit attractive places such as the town of La Carolina and the Pampa de las Invernadas.
