Information

It is a national park located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. It includes in its boundaries a land and a sea portion, and preserves a tropical forest, mangrove areas and marine environments.

It is one of the most visited national parks in the country, attracting crowds of local and foreign tourists. Its main attractions are its beaches, trails and wildlife that can be easily observed.

To enter you must pay a ticket. Consider that it is usually closed one day a week (so it is advisable to consult in advance). By the entrance there are those who offer the service of a guide for wildlife observation. There are park rangers, and in different sectors there are toilets and places with tables and seats. Overnight stays are not allowed inside the protected area, and there are no food stalls.

To take into account:
- There are buses that come directly from San José, and drop off at the village by the park entrance.
- To get there from Quepos, there are 7 km of paved road. There are buses that make this route all day long, and pick up passengers both in the village and at stops along the road.
- There is accommodation and restaurants in Quepos, and also along the 7 km road that connects it to Manuel Antonio.
- About 100 metres before the entrance to the national park there is an area with lots of stalls selling handicrafts and groceries.
