Information
It is a protected area located at the mouth of the Rio Grande River. Geographically it is the tip of a peninsula, which juts out from the urban area of the city of Río Grande.
Admission to the place is free and free of charge. It has a marked trail that starts at its entrance and runs the length of the reserve. There are a couple of viewpoints and several signs informing about the nature of the place. It is a good place to watch local and migratory birds, as you can see oystercatchers, gulls, sandpipers and many other species.
To get to Punta Popper from the downtown area of Río Grande, you must take Pacheco Street and cross the General Mosconi Bridge. On the other side of the river, take El Alambrador Street and continue parallel to the coast for about 3 kilometres until you reach the entrance to the protected area.
