Lake Perito Moreno

Information

It is a large lake located near San Carlos de Bariloche in Río Negro Province, and belongs to Nahuel Huapi National Park. It receives water from tributaries such as the Casa de Piedra Stream and drains through a 120-meter-wide narrow channel into Nahuel Huapi Lake. It is surrounded by mountains such as Cerro López, Cerro Goye and others.

One of its features is that it is divided into two sections called East Perito Moreno Lake and West Perito Moreno Lake. They are separated by a narrow passage with a bridge crossed by a paved road known as "Circuito Chico".

It has the advantage of having several access points for visitors. You can even reach the shores of both sections and the area where they meet:
— West Perito Moreno Lake is surrounded by "Circuito Chico". When this road crosses Llao Llao Municipal Park, it has several turnoffs leading to the shore, such as the one at the Arrayanes Trail where there is access to the shoreline with a picnic area.
— At the bridge separating the two sections of the lake (east and west) there is access to a beach.
— The village of Colonia Suiza is located on the shore of East Perito Moreno Lake and has a public beach.
