The city of San Luis, capital of the province of the same name, can be reached from many parts of Argentina by different means of transportation:
1. By bus: buses arrive from the cities of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, General Pico, La Plata, Mar del Plata, Mendoza, Río Cuarto, Rosario, San Juan, San Rafael, Santa Rosa, Villa Mercedes and many others. In addition, public transportation services connect the city with the main tourist destinations in the province of San Luis.
2. By car: National Route 7 connects the city with Buenos Aires (770 km), Mendoza (254 km) and Villa Mercedes (90 km). National Route 146 connects it southward with San Rafael (268 km); and this same route also heads north providing access to secondary roads that lead to tourist destinations such as Villa de la Quebrada, Nogolí, Luján and others.
3. By plane: the city has Brigadier Mayor César Raúl Ojeda Airport located 3.5 km from the city center, which receives daily flights from Buenos Aires. This airport is usually the main gateway to the province by air throughout the year, although flights to Villa de Merlo Airport may also be available during certain periods (Villa de Merlo is located in the northeastern part of the province). Therefore, it is always advisable to check which routes and airlines are operating, as the available services can vary considerably over time.
