Siete Cajones

Information

It is a place where there are some natural pools formed among the rocks on the Grande River, located about 2.5 kilometres from El Trapiche. As it is a wide river, when the water flow is good, these pools are usually quite deep.

IMPORTANT: The river can have high water levels, especially in summer. On the other hand, when I was there (in 2021) there was no demarcation or lifeguard service.

To get there, on the outskirts of El Trapiche there is a dirt road. After 1.6 km you come to a fork, which if you turn left leads to a small beach on the Grande River. On the other hand, if you turn right after 100 metres you will reach a car park where you have to pay to get there, and from there it is a 300 metre walk to the Siete Cajones.
