El Cóndor

Information

It is a locality and tourist destination located on the coast of Río Negro. It has a tourist information office, restaurants, shops, camping sites and accommodation of different prices.

Its beaches are long and wide. And there is a lot to know in its surroundings:
- Taking the 8 bis street and then following 2.5 km along a dirt road heading northeast, you can get to know the mouth of the Negro River, a recommendable place.
- To the west, there is a gravel/sand road known as the Ruta de los Acantilados (Route of the Cliffs), with many natural attractions and tens of kilometres of wild beaches.

For those who enjoy bird watching, El Cóndor has one of the largest colonies of parrots in the world, of the species of the burrowing parrot (Cyanoliseus patagonus). These colonies can be seen in the cliffs of the beaches, especially towards the south-west, on the way out of the locality.

How to get to El Cóndor:
- By car: it is 33 kilometres away from Viedma along the paved Provincial Route 1.
- By public transport: there are buses that leave from Viedma and drop you off at the town.
