Playas Doradas

Information

It is a small village exclusively devoted to tourism, located on the coast of Argentina's Río Negro Province. It is in an isolated location far from large cities and popular tourist destinations, for example the closest ones are Las Grutas 147 km away and Puerto Madryn (Chubut Province) 165 km away.

It has basic services such as a tourist information office, an ATM, a supermarket and accommodation. It also has a municipal campground with barbecue grills, showers and a small store. There is no petrol station, so you need to fill up in the nearby village of Sierra Grande.

It has a long and especially wide beach, with a parallel pedestrian walkway with benches and parking. Keep in mind that strong winds are common. There are also other attractions nearby:
— If you go about 300 meters north, you reach the mouth of the Salado Creek, a completely natural place that is excellent for observing wild birds. At high tide a lagoon forms. IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that some areas are covered by the rising tide, so you should not go into just any area without first getting properly informed.
— To the south, a dirt road allows you to follow the coast for about 9 km. There are access points to different wild beaches, such as the picturesque Playa Bonita (about 2 km away) and Playa Los Suecos (about 5 km away).

To get to Playas Doradas, a 31 km road leads to it from the village of Sierra Grande, which is located along National Route 3.
