Tulum

It is a city located on the Riviera Maya, in the state of Quintana Roo. It is an excellent place to stay and to visit the many attractions in the surrounding area.

It has many services for the visitor. There is accommodation and restaurants in all price ranges, and a variety of shops from groceries to handicrafts. There are petrol stations, bureaux de change, ATMs, car rental agencies, and bicycle rental shops.

It has a bus station from which you can go by public transport to other destinations and also to Cancún International Airport.

Regarding tourist attractions, the following are located close to the city:
- Tulum Archaeological Site: it is about 4 km from the centre of Tulum. It has Mayan ruins to see and its own beach.
- Cenotes: there are some nearby. For example: Grand Cenote (4.5 km), Cenote Cristal (5 km) and Cenote Dos Osos (7 km).
- Beaches: going to the archaeological zone, before entering the ruins, if you turn right there is a long coastal road with several public beaches.

You have these means of transport to move around:
- Bus: some of the ones that leave from the terminal to different destinations, may leave at nearby attractions along the way. There are also those going to and coming from the archaeological zone of Tulum.
- Car: there are several car rental agencies around the area of the junction of Route 307 and Cobá Avenue.
- Bicycle: on Tulum Avenue (which is Route 307) there are shops that rent bicycles, which are practical for visiting nearby sites.
