Concepción del Uruguay is a city in the province of Entre Ríos, located on the banks of the Uruguay River. It is a large city, and as of 2026 it is the fourth largest in the province by population.

It has several tourist attractions, which is why it receives a large number of visitors during the summer (especially in January and February), as well as during long weekends. The number of visitors increases even more during Carnival, as Concepción is one of the cities in the province that celebrates it and has a specific venue for the event. The city has a tourist information office, a variety of shops, restaurants, ATMs, petrol stations, and hotels at different levels and price ranges. It also offers more than one camping option.

There are several beaches of different types, along with different activities that can be enjoyed there:
— Balneario Banco Pelay: a large beach where camping is allowed, and where concerts and/or festivals are held on the beach during some weekends in the high season.
— Balneario Itapé: a small beach with a place for camping and having a picnic in the surrounding area.
— Isla del Puerto: an island that can be reached by a bridge. There are parking areas, a restaurant, a riverside path and a wide sandy beach.

From the port area, especially during the high season, boats and catamarans depart to explore the islands and spend the day there.

Outside the city, it is highly recommended to travel about 32 km to visit Palacio San José, a historic site where former president Justo José de Urquiza lived and carried out his activities. It is also possible to visit beaches in other nearby cities located along the Uruguay River, especially those in Colón and San José. Another option is to travel about 80 km and visit El Palmar National Park, a must-see for those who want to be in contact with nature.
