Sierras de Ventania

They constitute the highest mountain system in the province of Buenos Aires, with its highest peaks: the Cerro Tres Picos (1239 metres above sea level), the Cerro Destierro Primero (1172 metres above sea level), the Cerro Ventana (1134 metres above sea level) and others.

The main localities where tourists who come to visit this circuit stay are Sierra de la Ventana and Villa Ventana, which have a variety of services and amenities. They also go to other towns such as Saldungaray, Tornquist and Villa Serrana La Gruta. All these places are usually crowded with visitors during long weekends and the high summer season (January and February).

A great place to visit is the Ernesto Tornquist Provincial Park, where there are several attractions and trails of different difficulty. The climbs to the mountains Cerro Bahía Blanca and the emblematic Cerro Ventana stand out there.

The town of Sierra de la Ventana has recreational areas with streams and in its vicinity is the hill Cerro del Amor or Cerro Ceferino. The sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Fátima in Villa Serrana La Gruta and the recreational areas of Saldungaray and Villa Ventana are other attractions of the circuit.

The ascent to the mountain Cerro Tres Picos is recommended for those who like a more demanding trekking, with the possibility of doing it in one or two days.
